Cycling News : Brand and Hermans claim win in Fayetteville, as Brand and Iserbyt lead overall

Dutch rider, Lucinda Brand (Baloise Trek), took the overall lead in the Women's UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup on Wednesday after winning round two in Fayetteville, USA, under heavy rain in the Ozark mountains. A mistake by compatriot Marianne Vos (Jumbo-Visma) on the final lap, allowed reigning World Champion Brand to overtake her and ride solo to the finish line. In the men's race, Belgian rider Quinten Hermans earned his first World Cup victory as an elite, having led the field for most of the race. Eli Iserbyt finished in second to retain his World Cup lead, and his teammate Michael Vanthourenhout came in third despite a mechanical fault in the last lap.
