Chess News: We are focusing on elections while Chauhan camp delaying process, says RM Dongre

While elections are the primary agenda on the list of the All India Chess Federation, the rift between two factions seems never-ending. The two bickering factions at the AICF- one led by Bharat Singh Chauhan and the other one by P.R. Venketrama Raja, are confident that out of all the 32 state associations, their respective faction has the majority and that they will come out with flying colours in the upcoming elections which look like a distant dream as of now. In a recent development, the electoral officer in charge of the AICF (retd) J Kannan has said that the electoral roll approved in February shall remain the same, something which the Chauhan faction is not happy with and something they never wanted. The associations to which Chauhan camp raised objections to include Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra amongst the others. If everything will be alright, the AICF will witness contests in elections for the first time after 2005.
