USA win 3 gold medals in Swimming, defeats Canada for gold in Fencing final at Pan Am games

Margo Geer of the United States won gold in the women's 100-metre freestyle at the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru. On the men's side, Brazil's Marcelo Chierighini won the men's 100-metre freestyle in a time of 48.09. The USA earned two more gold medals in the pool with wins by Phoebe Bacon in the women's 100-metre backstroke and Daniel Carr in the men's 100-metre backstroke. The Americans picked up another gold medal by defeating Canada 45-39 in the women's foil team final.
