Snooker: Yan Bingtao beats Martin Gould 10-6 in first round

Yan Bingtao advanced to the second round of the World Snooker Championship on Sunday, beating Martin Gould 10-6. Level at 4-4 heading into the session, the first two frames were split, but reigning Masters champion Yan racked up centuries in the next two for a 7-5 lead. A fluked red gave Yan the upper hand in the 14th frame and the rising Chinese star went on to wrap up the match after Gould potted the cue ball in the 16th frame. Should he win the event, 21-year-old Yan would break Stephen Hendry's record as the youngest winner in World Snooker Championship history.
