Snooker: Williams beats Higgins in battle of former champions to reach World Championship quarter-finals

Mark Williams came out on top against John Higgins in a much-anticipated showdown between the two multiple world champions on Saturday.. In a re-run of the 2018 World Championship final, the 45-year-old Welshman won 13-7 to reach the last eight of this year's World Snooker Championship in Sheffield, England. Williams led 10-6 at the resumption of play in the evening session and closed out the match with breaks of 76, 85 and 77. He will play either Mark Allen or Mark Selby in the quarter-finals.
