Cycling News : Joris Daudet wins the Men's Elite race ahead of Cedric Butti and Helvijs Babris

Joris Daudet of France held off a sustained challenge from Swiss rival Cedric Butti to take victory in the Men's Elite final of round three of the UCI World Cup Supercross in Bogota on Saturday (29th May) with Helvijs Babris picking up third place and some vital Olympic qualification points for Latvia. Daudet had been among the favourites ahead of the race, and put his performance down to starting from a good gate. He finished in a winning time of 32.694 seconds. Kristens Krigers of Latvia was less lucky - crashing out early after clipping his wheel coming in to the opening corner. Racing will resume in the Colombian capital on Sunday (30th May) - the competitors last opportunity to book their place in the Tokyo 2020 Games in July.
