Kanthi D Suresh, Editor in Chief Power Sportz says, Indian sports should restore back to normalcy soon

The carnage by the novel coronavirus has caught the whole world in the wrong foot, upending every aspect of human life including sports. How can we save ourselves from this scourge at the moment is what people are asking one another. It is “social distancing which is the key,” says Kanthi D Suresh, Editor-in-chief of Power Sportz. Even the Olympics have been pushed back by a year to 2021. All major sporting events have been either postponed or canceled as the flare-up of the Covid-19 continues unabated. Along with the whole world, India is also under a total lockdown after a pronouncement by PM Modi. Sportspersons all over the world are in the hibernation mode. It is never easy for athletes to withdraw from sporting activities, that too so abruptly. The general mood is somber in the sporting fraternity. However, taking a cue from the interview with Kanthi D Suresh, there is light at the end of the tunnel. If we strictly follow the directives issued by the government we can surely tide over this mayhem, feels Kanthi. “Common sense,” is something which will prevent us from getting infected from such a virus,” she said. According to Kanthi D Suresh, in the next 21 days, we should be seeing some positive results with the cumulative effort by the healthcare professionals, the government and the general public. She is very positive about Indian sports and expects it to bounce back very soon. Compared to other nations, Kanthi iterates, India is doing reasonably well, and it is likely that the nation will pull it off and stop the virus on its track.
