Hockey News: India and Pakistan declared joint Asian Champions Trophy winners after rain plays spoilsport

Rain played spoilsport in Asian Champions Trophy hockey final between arch-rivals India and Pakistan // which lead to the match being abandoned due to the bad weather conditions in Muscat. As a result, India and Pakistan were declared the joint winners of the fifth edition of the continental event. Looking to defend their title, this year’s final was a repeat of 2016 final where India beat Pakistan 3-2 in a thrilling encounter. A great achievement for the Indian team was being undefeated throughout the tournament, which included 5 wins and a solitary draw while racking up 30 goals. The impressive performance has to give Harendra Singh and his boys much needed momentum going into the World Cup to be held in November.
