Hockey News: Indian remain unbeaten in the Asian Champions Trophy

Harmanpreet Singh scored a hat-trick of penalty corner conversions to give India a 4-1 victory over South Korea in the ongoing Asian Champions Trophy thus knocking the Koreans out of a semifinal spot. Harmanpreet opened the Indian scoring in the fifth minute with a firm drag-flick and returned to score two goals in the last quarter with rasping shots in the 47th and 59th minute to become the tournament’s third player to score a treble. India’s Dilpreet Singh and Pakistan’s Aleem Bilal are the other players to have registered hat-tricks in the ongoing Asian Champions Trophy Muscat 2018. The blue sticks have been on a rampage as they annihilated Oman 11-0 in their opening encounter. Defeated Pakistan 3-1 in the next match and Humiliated Japan 9-0. The match against Malaysia was a goalless draw and against South Korea India came up with another clinical performance. The defending champions consolidated their top position in the standings winning 4 out of 5 matches with 13 points in their bag.
