Hockey News: Harendra Singh to take charge of the Junior hockey team

The latest fall guy of Hockey India’s hire and fire approach is Harendra Singh. 9 months into his reign as the head coach of the Indian hockey team, Hockey India has unceremoniously demoted him and offered him the role of the coach of the junior team whom he lead to a World Cup triumph in 2016. With 2018 being a disappointing year for Indian hockey with the senior team crashing out of the Asian Games and World Cup being touted as the main reason for Harendra Singh’s removal. The national body has invited for application for the position of the head coach and Until the appointment of a new boss, Hockey India’s High-Performance Director, David John and current Analytical Coach, Chris Ciriello will oversee the team.
