Hockey News: India blame umpiring blunders for defeat vs Netherlands

India's 43-year long wait to reach a hockey World Cup semi-final continued after going down 1-2 to the Netherlands at the jam-packed Kalinga Stadium. Thierry Brinkmann (14th minute) and Mink van der Weerden (50th) scored for the Dutch while India's lone goal came in the opening quarter from Akashdeep Singh (12th). Manpreet Singh led team however blamed umpiring flounders for defeat against the Dutch team. The team found the umpire's decision wrong on giving a yellow card to defender Amit Rohidas during the last minutes into the game and the Indian coach, who was fuming at the press conference, said that this was not the first time that this happened with the Indian team.
