Football News: I-League clubs unhappy with AIFF, withdraw from Super Cup

Eight I-League clubs have decided to withdraw from the upcoming Super Cup set to take place in Bhubaneswar this month. The Super Cup is India's main knockout tournament hosted by the AIFF which pits I-League and Indian Super League clubs against each other. Sources close to the development have revealed that the clubs have decided to pull out of the tournament after their plea was not heard by the All India Football Federation. Earlier, eight of the 11 I-League clubs had written to AIFF President Praful Patel requesting a meeting to "seek answers" regarding I-league’s future. However, when this letter did not bear any fruit the clubs decided to boycott the Super Cup.
