Cricket News: India open Women's World T20 Campaign in style

India beat New Zealand by 34 runs to get their ICC World T20 campaign off to the great start at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. Skipper Harmanpreet Kuar struck a historic ton while Hemalatha and Poonam Yadav ended with three wickets each to power India to an emphatic win in the opener. Harmanpreet become the first women to score a century for India in womens T20Internationals and she brought her ton in just 49 balls. Her knock included 8 massive sixes and seven fours. It was youngster Jemimah Rodrigues who was playing her first ever game in an ICC event, provided the ideal support from the other end to swashbuckling Harmanpreet and together they added 134 runs for the fourth wicket which helped India set a mammoth target of 195 for the Kiwis.
