India women began their campaign with a smashing win against New Zealand and will look to continue their dominance against Pakistan in few hours. India powered to a 34-run victory, thanks to captain Harmanpreet Kaur’s blistering knock of 103 in just 51 balls and later the bowlers did the job for the Indian eves. Pakistan on the other hand had a forgettable match against Champions Australia as they lost their opening match by 52 runs. Pakistan women came into the tournament on the back of a convincing win over South Africa and then edging Bangladesh in a low scoring contest but looked out of sorts against Australia. Lack of big hitters for Pakistan will make a difference against India who have plenty of big hitting players at their disposal – including Jemimah Rodrigues who scored 59 against the Kiwis. India and Pakistan women have played each other 10 times with India winning eight times and Pakistan winning on the other two occasions. Five of them have been at a World T20 event where India won three games.
