Cycling News : Ethan Hayter doubles up with 2nd stage win in a row on day 2 of Tour of Norway

Ethan Hayter won his second consecutive victory on stage 2 at the Tour of Norway on Friday. After taking the opening stage, the overall race leader tasted victory again, winning the sprint on an uphill finish ahead of Tosh Van Der Sande (Lotto Soudal) and Mike Teunissen (Jumbo-Visma). The 185 kilometre race around the picturesque Sirdal region saw the breakaway group take a three minute advantage, but with 350 metres to go, Hayter surged to the front on the uphill stretch and won to increase his lead on the overall classification to 15 seconds. Great Britain's Hayter won silver alongside Matt Walls in the Madison at the Tokyo Olympic Games. Hayter has now taken six wins this season, the only other of his professional career coming in his debut 2020 season at the Giro dell'Appennino. Saturday's third stage is a 160 kilometre race around Jorpeland.
