Takuma Sato captured IndyCar's Grand Prix of Portland race. He won for the third time in his career. Scott Dixon salvaged his championship run in Oregon. Scott Dixon in control of his race to a fifth IndyCar title. Dixon finished fifth behind race winner Takuma Sato. Rossi finished eighth and lost three points to Dixon. Andretti's car launched over two others in an accident on the opening lap.
