Football: Postponing Women’s Euros was right decision – Leupolz

Melanie Leupolz, who hails from Germany, backs Aleksander Ceferin’s UEFA for postponing the Women's Euros until 2022. The mega European event for the women’s division was due to happen in the summer of 2021. However, the coronavirus pandemic forced the European governing body to postpone the Euro 2020 to 2021. Bayern Munich midfielder Leupolz, who will play for Chelsea next season, thinks women's football requires a different market. Therefore, playing two major events together can’t help any party to showcase their magic strongly. Last year, France hosted the FIFA Women’s World Cup perfectly and captured a huge chunk of the global audience. If everything goes well, England will have a great chance in the summer of 2022 to make the Women's Euros truly a spectacular tournament.
