Football News : Ancelotti 'extremely proud' as Real beat Athletic Bilbao 2-0 to claim Spanish Super Cup

Reaction from head coach Carlo Ancelotti as high-flying Real Madrid lifted the Spanish Super Cup for the 12th time with a comfortable 2-0 win over defending champions Athletic Bilbao in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.

A curling finish from Luka Modric in the 38th minute and a Karim Benzema penalty in the 52nd sealed the win for Los Blancos.

In a nervous finale Real lost Eder Militao to a red card in the 87th minute but Raul Garcia failed to convert the resulting penalty.

It was Real's first trophy in claimed their first trophy in Ancelotti's second spell as coach at the club.
