Chelsea managed to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga from La Liga club Athletic Bilbao for a record £71m. This transaction has surpassed the transfer of Liverpool's Alisson for £66.8m from AS Roma. The Blues considered signing the 23-year-old Spanish international because Thibaut Courtois had decided to join Real Madrid. With this deal, Arrizabalaga has become the most expensive keeper of all time.
