Cycling: Mareczko wins Tour of Taihu Lake stage 5

Jakub Mareczko accelerated towards the finish to take his second stage victory of this year's Tour of Taihu Lake. Stage five's 146.5 kilometer route from Nantong to Haimen resulted in another bunch sprint finish, and Mareczko made his move with the line in sight to add to his win from stage three. A crash towards the back of the peloton threatened to split the field with less than 10 kilometers remaining. But the front end of the peloton was not affected, and Wanty Groupe Gobert riders positioned themselves at the front for the victory. However, they failed to maintain their charge and Wilier Triestina-Selle Italia rider Jacopo Mosca raced to the front. Boris Vallee came home in fourth and extended his lead in the general classification by a second. The Belgian is now 15 seconds ahead of Benjamin Dyball and Alexander Cataford with two stages left.
