Cricket News: Rohit Sharma's ton puts India in a strong position

Indian opener Rohit Sharma scores his sixth Test ton to take India in a strong position as bad light stops the play early on day one of the 3rd and final Test in Ranchi. Captain Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first and with the new ball pacer, Kagiso Rabada was spot on dismissing in-form opener Mayank Agarwal and Cheteshwar Pujara. After Virat Kohli's dismissal, India were tottering at 39 for 3. Rohit Sharma stood ground despite losing his partners at the other end and went on to score his 6th Test century and his third of the series. Rohit and Rahane struck a 185-run partnership which is the highest partnership for India against South Africa for the fourth wicket in Test matches. Rohit Struck 14 fours and 4 sixes en route to his unbeaten knock. Indian vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane also made sure that he didn't let the opportunity slip and played with a very positive frame of mind during the course of his innings. Rahane smashed 11 fours and one six.
