Cricket News: BCCI contemplating nine-team IPL instead of 10

Reports claim that BCCI has taken a U-turn from its decision to bring out a tender for two new franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL). It is learnt that now BCCI is planning to introduce just one franchise early next year for two seasons before introducing the 10th team. Instead of 10 teams, the IPL could now have nine until the year 2022 and the possible decision – the move is still being contemplated – could be based on multiple aspects that are being considered.
