Volleyball: Brazil beat Mexico 3-1 at FIVB Women's World Championship

Brazil came back from a set down to beat Mexico by three sets to one at the FIVB Women's World Championship. The two-time Olympic gold medallists lost 3-2 to Germany on Sunday (7th October) and were desperate to get their quest for a first world title title back on track against the Mexicans. They did just that, thanks largely to the perseverance and energy of Tandara Caixeta, who scored a match-high 25 points. Gabriela Guimaraes added 15 points, with Drussyla Costa contributing 14. Andrea Rangel scored an impressive 23 points for Mexico, who somewhat surprisingly took the opening set 25-23. The Mexicans dominated the second for long periods, before their South American opponents turned the match around to win in four sets.
