Tennis: Wimbledon cancellation is 'symptomatic' of pandemic gravity - Nicolas Mahut

French tennis player Nicolas Mahut said that the cancellation of the 2020 edition of Wimbledon is "symptomatic" of the gravity of the coronavirus pandemic, and acknowledged the possibility that the US Open could also be pushed back from its late August start. It will be the first time since World War II that the oldest Grand Slam tennis tournament won't be played. Mahut, who in 2010 played at Wimbledon the longest tennis match in history against John Isner, also remarked that Roland Garros' unilateral decision to postpone the tournament to late September should have been agreed among the different tennis institutions.
