Tennis: Nishikori moves through in three sets in Rotterdam

Top seed Kei Nishikori fought back from a set down to defeat Pierre-Hugues Herbert 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 and avoid a first round upset at the World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Japan's Nishikori lost the opening set 6-3, but the 2014 US Open finalist regrouped and dropped just five further games as he won his first-ever match at the Rotterdam tournament after two hours and 11 minutes on court. Nishikori, who won his 12th ATP Tour title at the Brisbane International last month, won 84 per cent of his first-serve points as he recorded his second victory over Herbert - the first came at the Miami Masters in 2016. The 29-year-old will face Ernests Gulbis in the second round, after the Latvian defeated Marius Copil in straight sets.
