Georgian qualifier Nikoloz Basilashvili ousted third-seeded Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta 7-6(3), 6-4 in the quarter-finals of the German Open. His opponent in the semi-finals will be Chile's Nicolas Jarry who earlier toppled French Open finalist and the top seed here, Austria's Dominic Thiem, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (7).
