Tennis: Kei Nishikori beats Pablo Carreno-Busta in a fifth set tie-break to reach the quarters

Kei Nishikori came from two sets to love down to beat Pablo Carreno-Busta 6-7 (8-10), 4-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-4, 7-6 (10-8) and reach the quarter-finals of the Australian Open on Monday. The Spanish 23rd seed won the opening set 10-8 on a tie-break which lasted an hour and 18 minutes. He then took the second set 6-4, before the Japanese eighth seed fought back, winning the next two sets. The deciding set went to a new first to a 10-point tie-break, in which Carreno-Busta went 8-5 ahead. But Nishikori won the next five points for victory in five hours 11 minutes. He will play either six-times winner Novak Djokovic or Russian 15th seed Daniil Medvedev for a place in the last four.
