Tennis: Karolina Pliskova beats Lesia Tsurenko to win WTA Brisbane International

Fifth seed Karolina Pliskova won her second Brisbane International title in Australia, beating Lesia Tsurenko 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 after being just two points away from defeat. Serving for the title at 5-4 in the second set, Tsurenko lost 13 points in a row as Pliskova levelled the match in a thrilling comeback. The 29-year-old Ukrainian then rolled her ankle in the second game of the deciding set, allowing world number eight Pliskova to storm ahead and take the match. Tsurenko was 4-0 in her previous WTA final appearances, the most recent coming at the Mexican Open in March last year. 26 year-old Pliskova won her first Brisbane title two years ago.
