Fourth seed Elise Mertens overcame Johana Konta to reach the semi-finals. Konta had grabbed the headlines following a stunning 6-1, 6-0 first round victory over Serena Williams. Konta lost to Mertens 7-6, 6-3 in the quarterfinals.
