Tennis: Caroline Garcia advances to second round at the Western and Southern Open

Caroline Garcia beat Victoria Azarenka 6-4, 7-5 in the first round of the Western and Southern Open in Cincinnati. Azarenka, a former champion in Cincinnati and two-time Grand Slam winner, was eventually beaten after one hour and 36 minutes. Garcia next faces the winner of the Karolina Pliskova.
