Snowboarding: Nadya Ochner and Tim Mastnak take PGS Snowboard honours in Carezza

The new Snowboard World Cup season got underway at Carezza in Italy where Nadya Ochner registered a victory on home snow, while and Slovenia's Tim Mastnak won in the Parallel Giant Slalom. Nadya Ochner secured her first World Cup win after overcoming the reigning World Cup champion, Ester Ledecka of the Czech Republic, in the big final. Ledecka created history at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang in 2018 when she became the first person to win gold medals in both skiing and snowboarding. In the men's competition, Slovenia's Tim Mastnak had a comfortable run in the big final against former world champion Benjamin Karl of Austria. The margin of victory was almost three-quarters of a second in the end.
