Rio 2016 steeplechase champion Ruth Jebet provisionally suspended after EPO positive

Steeplechase world record holder and Olympic gold medallist Ruth Jebet is among 109 track and field athletes and coaches facing disciplinary proceedings, as listed by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU). Jebet, 21, tested positive for EPO in February but no official confirmation of disciplinary proceedings had been forthcoming until now. The Bahrain Athletics Association excluded Jebet from their Asian Games squad due to the ongoing investigation into allegations of doping. Jebet faces a four-year ban but her case is pending investigation by the IAAF Disciplinary Tribunal.
