Motor Sport: Jonathan Rea wins opening race at Laguna Seca to extend World Superbike lead

Northern Ireland's Jonathan Rea dominated the opening race of the weekend at Laguna Seca to extend his lead at the top of the World Superbike Championship to 70 points. Rea returned to form after he crashed out following a collision with Kawasaki teammate Tom Sykes in Brno, Czech Republic two weeks ago. The reigning world champion seized the lead with 19 laps remaining in California after nerves appeared to get the better of Chaz Davies who finished second.
