Handball: Denmark beat Norway 31-22 to win gold at Men's World Championships

Denmark beat Norway 31-22 in front of a home crown in Herning to take gold at the Men's World Championships. Cheered on by a capacity crowd of 15,000 at the Jyske Bank Boxen, as well as Frederik, Crown Prince of Denmark, the Danes held the lead from the eighth minute till the final whistle as they clinched their maiden world title. It was their second victory over the Norwegians in the tournament, having beat them 30-26 in the preliminary group stage, and the current Olympic champions made it 10 from 10. Goalkeeper Niklas Landin made a string of impressive saves and Mikkel Hansen led the scoring with seven goals. Norway took silver for a second consecutive year, having lost to France in the 2017 final.
