Golf: First round action from Meijer LPGA Classic

Play finally began in Grand Rapids Thursday afternoon (13 June) after a seven-hour rain delay-drenched the Blythefield Country Club. The first round of the Meijer LPGA Classic was able to get underway, with officials hoping the entire field would at least get to tee off before darkness. American Mina Harigae was the early leader after sinking five birdies over her opening nine holes. The tournament's defending champion So Yeon Ryu was not due to tee off until 19:59 local time.
