Football: Philippines and Thailand draw 1-1 in Group B of AFF Championship

Both teams came into the encounter unbeaten with six points apiece after two games, with Thailand only ahead on goal difference. Each were looking for the three points that would qualify them for the next round of the competition - however, the first half turned out to be a disappointing one. Thailand broke the deadlock in the 56th minute - Philip Roller crossed the ball into the area and Supachai Jaided gave the visitors the lead. But just as Thailand looked set for their third straight victory, there was a soft equaliser. Jovin Bedic's shot from the edge of the penalty area was deflected, struck a post and spun just out of the reach of Thailand goalkeeper Chatchai Budprom. A 1-1 draw meant the teams stayed neck and neck at the top of Group B, both on seven points, just one ahead of Singapore, heading into the final set of matches on Sunday (25th November).
