Football: PAOK beat Olympiakos 3-1 in top-of-the-table clash in Greek Super League

PAOK beat arch rivals Olympiacos 3-1 on Sunday in a top-of-the-table Greek Super League clash in Thessaloniki. The result puts PAOK nine points clear of Olympiacos - and a step closer to their first league title for 34 years. PAOK, who are unbeaten this season, took the lead through captain Vieirinha in the third minute and Dutchman Diego Biseswar started and finished a superb move to make it 2-0 after 19 minutes. Chuba Akpom had a goal disallowed for offside in the second half but the young Englishman made amends in the 82nd minute, when he dispossessed Papa Abou Cisse and curled the ball into the net to give the home side a 3-0 lead. Daniel Podence scored a late consolation goal for Olympiacos, but it was too late to prevent Pedro Martins' men from succumbing to their first league defeat in 13 games.
