Football: Newport shock Leicester 2-1 in FA Cup

The magic of the English FA Cup was well and truly alive, as League Two side Newport County pulled off a huge upset, beating the 2016 Premier League champions Leicester City, 2-1 in the third round. Jamille Matt's header after a surging run from Robbie Willmott put Newport 1-0 up against a side 74 places above them. Thanks to their resolute defence, Newport managed to hold onto that lead until the 82nd minute, but Rachid Ghezzal's thunderous goal dragged Leicester back into the match. Just three minutes later Marc Albrighton handled inside the area and Padraig Amond's well struck penalty gave Newport a deserved 2-1 victory. The side are 12th in League Two, with only one win since the end of November, but they took the game to Leicester to book their place in the fourth round.
