Footbal: India beat Sri Lanka 2-0 to top Group B in SAFF Cup

Defending champions India faced Sri Lanka in the first match of Group B in the 2018 edition of the SAFF Cup. And the Indian side promptly took the lead in the 35th minute. Ashique Kuruniyan with the goal from Sumeet Passi's through ball and it was 1-0. India led 1-0 at half time. Two minutes after the break, India doubled their tally, Lallianzuala Chhangte with the cross that ended up in the back of the net and that made it 2-0. India's confidence was growing and they should have made it three in the 72nd minute but Farukh Choudhary was denied by the crossbar. 2-0 it finished in the end as India top Group B with all three points.
