Jesus Herrada won stage six of La Vuelta a Espana on Thursday, just holding off new race leader Dylan Teuns in the final kilometre. Dorian Godon was third. Teuns has a 38-second advantage over second-placed David de la Cruz in the general classification. Around 100 kilometres into the stage, a huge crash saw many riders hit the deck. Sixth-placed Rigoberto Uran and former leader Nicholas Roche were among those forced out, while Tony Martin continued despite nasty cuts and rips in his shorts.
