Cycling: Chris Froome 'not done yet' in bid for record equalling fifth Tour de France win

Chris Froome is targeting a return to form and a fifth Tour de France, this time with his new team Israel Start Up Nation, following the 2019 crash which could have ended his career. Already the winner of four yellow jerseys, all with Team Sky and Ineos, Froome is hoping to join the exclusive group of riders who have triumphed five times in France: Jacques Anquetil, Eddy Merckx, Bernard Hinault and Miguel Indurain. Froome suffered multiple fractures when he hit a wall at high speed during the Criterium du Dauphine 18 months ago and admitted on Monday that quitting the sport would have been an easy decision. Instead, the 35-year-old has been working to get back to the front of the peloton. "I think the one really big motivation for me was knowing that I'm sitting on four Tour de France titles and I don't feel as if I'm done yet. I'd like to get to number five," said Froome. "I think the prospect of being put out by a crash, that didn't sit well with me," he added.
