Cycling: Britain's Adam Yates wins stage three of Volta Catalunya

Britain's Adam Yates (Mitchelton-Scott) won stage three of the Volta Catalunya on Wednesday, with Belgium's Thomas De Gendt (Lotto-Soudal) retaining the overall lead. Yates was fastest in the final sprint for the winning line ahead of Egan Bernal (Team Sky) and Dan Martin (UAE Team Emirates), second and third respectably. De Gendt, who had won stage one after a solo breakaway, maintained his lead at the top of the standings over Martin by 23 seconds, with Simon Yates trailing De Gendt by 27 seconds. The stage four on Thursday will cover 150 kilometres with four categorized climbs and a summit finish at La Molina.
