Cycling: Bennett wins stage four of UAE Tour, Pogacar retains overall lead

Sam Bennett won a bunch sprint to claim victory on stage four of the UAE Tour on Wednesday, while 2020 Tour de France champion Tadej Pogacar retained the overall lead of the race. Francois Bidard and Olivier le Gac formed the day's breakaway on a 204-kilometre course that started and finished at Al Marjan Island, but the French pair were swept up by the peloton with 29 kilometres to go. Irishman Bennett was a cut above the rest in the ensuing sprint finish, holding off David Dekker and Caleb Ewan to claim the stage honours. Pogacar of Slovenia - the winner of stage three - finished the day as he had started it at the top of the general classification, holding a 43-second advantage over defending champion Adam Yates.
