Cumberlidge wins gold on final day of swimming at Summer Universiade

On the final night of Swimming, in the men's 50m freestyle, fastest qualifier David Cumberlidge of Great Britain won the gold medal, while silver went to Japan's Kosuke Matsui and Russian Daniil Markov won bronze Wednesday at the Summer Universiade in Naples, Italy. The final races of the swimming competition – the men's and women's 4 x 100m medley relays – were both won by the U.S. teams. The United States concluded their swimming competitions with 19 golds, 12 silvers and 9 bronzes. Japan finished second, with 6 golds, 7 silvers and 7 bronzes while Russia were third with 6 of each colour. In Athletics, Michal Rozmys of Poland won the men's 1500m gold medal in 3:53.67 while Australia's Catriona Bisset took the women's 800m gold in 2:01.20. In table tennis doubles, both the women's and men's finals were played solely by Chinese athletes. The women's final was up first, and Fan Siqi and Wang Yidi defeated their Chinese counterparts to win the gold medal. Another Chinese pair Yu Ziyang and Zhao Zihao wins men's doubles gold.
