Cricket News: Suresh Raina claims this Indian bowler to be the next Rashid Khan

Many international cricketers have made their mark on the game's shortest format thanks to the Indian Premier League. But after time, just like with every athlete, even the best must give way to the more talented youngsters. This was well understood by Aakash Chopra, who said

As the sun of a superstar sets, another one must rise.

On "Next-Gen Superstars" a fresh episode of "Legends Lounge" accessible on Jio Cinema, the former India opener was joined by RP Singh, Robin Uthappa, Pragyan Ojha, Suresh Raina, and Parthiv Patel as they debated which future players appear ready to start their dominance in the flagship competition.

Raina first mentioned Arshdeep Singhbefore describing why he believes Ravi Bishnoi deserves credit among bowlers.

If you see all the big bowlers who have earned their stripes in Test cricket, I think Bishnoi with his character and way of delivering the ball, will become someone like Rashid Khan.

Before describing what makes Tilak Varma unique, Ojha mentioned Abhishek Sharma as a star to watch out for. He did this by praising his all-around talent.

"He's from Hyderabad. I have seen his development since he was a kid. I am talking about him in U-15 and U-16 cricket and how hard he works. His schedule involves going to the ground at 6 AM and come home at 6 PM. He only takes a 30-45-minute lunch break. He is thoroughly dedicated.

While praising Varma's outstanding performances for the Mumbai Indians last season, Uthappa also mentioned his potential. Despite having a short run-up, he chose Mohsin Khan as his preferred bowler because of his remarkable quick bowling skills.

Yashasvi Jaiswal was mentioned by RP Singh as a potential batsman for the next generation while also praising Arshdeep.

If you look at his batting in the domestic circuit, you can tell there is something different about him. His game-reading sense, his batting technique, or his know-how of how to end a match. The good thing about him is that even if he makes 50, he is looking ahead at his 100.

Patel was going to mention Varma as his choice of batter because he had watched how brilliantly he played in the IPL,but instead he chose to discuss Prithvi Shaw of the Delhi Capitals and Yash Dayal of the Gujarat Titans.

The way (Shaw) has been batting in domestic games, we can see he plays well. Questions have been raised about his fitness and if he overcomes all these doubts, I think he has an incredible future ahead of him. My choice for bowler is Yash Dayal. Good bowler. If there was a standout bowler last year, I think everyone could see it was Yash Dayal.

Chopra acknowledged Yashasvi and Washington Sundar to end the lively conversation.
