Crash and Burn - Keala Kennelly 'wins' surfing's Wipeout of the Year award

It's the award no surfer wants to win, but she'll take it. Honolulu-based Keala Kennelly has been voted the winner of the Big Wave Awards Wipeout Of The Year for her crash and burn at Jaws, Hawaii on February 11, 2020. According to a release from the World Surf League, Keala beat out four male competitors in a fan vote for the most "visually spectacular display of commitment, bravery and skill from the world's best big wave surfers performed in the last 12 months."
