Boxing: 'I've got the character' to beat Pulev' - Joshua

Unified world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua says he's ready to be the "last man standing" when he defends his WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO belts against Bulgaria's Kubrat Pulev in front of 1,000 fans in London on Saturday. It's the first time the 31-year-old Joshua (24-23-1, 21KOs) will have stepped through the ropes since regaining his titles in Saudi Arabia last December in a re-match with Mexican-American Andy Ruiz Jr who sensationally stopped the Olympic gold medalist in June 2019. 39-year-old Pulev (28-1, 14KOs) has just on defeat on his record - a world title challenge against long-reigning unified champion Wladimir Klitschko in 2014 - and was due to face Joshua in Cardiff in October 2017 before pulling out with ten days to go due to a shoulder injury. Their mandatory clash was delayed again by the Covid-19 outbreak, with a proposed June meeting at Tottenham Hotspur's 62,000-seater stadium now being replaced by Saturday's event at London's Wembley Arena, the first UK fight to welcome limited spectators since March.
