Valencia Basket came close to throwing away their early lead before rallying to beat Bayern Munich 83-76 in Euroleague round 31 on Thursday night. Comfortably ahead 46-33 at half-time after bagging eight triples, Valencia were battered by a revitalised Bayern in the third quarter. A strong defence and a great scoring run by Vladimir Lucic saw the German side tally 30 points to Valencia's 12 in the third to lead 63-58 going into the final period. But Valencia kept their cool and a 13-2 run midway through the fourth turned the tide in their favour once more to seal a vital win. Mike Tobey led the way for the hosts with 18 points while Vladimir Lucic scored a game-high 20 points for Bayern in addition to Wade Baldwin's 13 and Paul Zipser's nine points.
