Wrestling News: Wrestling Federation of India postpones national camp

The Wrestling Federation of India has postponed the national camp both for men and women amid coronavirus pandemic. The national camp, which was slated to begin in the second week of August was to take place in Lucknow for women, whereas for men, it was to take place in Sonepat at the same time. With the likes of Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Pooja Dhanda were reluctant to go to the Lucknow facility, the WFI had to cancel national camp. According to the assistant secretary of WFI Mr Vinod Tomar, some of the star wrestlers raised objections against holding the national camp and were disinclined towards the same. He also said that camp will most likely be held in the next month and decision for the same will be taken after the Independence Day and that the venue for the women’s camp is going to be changed.
