Will the PM declare Hockey as the National Sport?

It comes as a huge shock to many hockey fans in India, that Hockey has never officially been declared the National sport of India. A sport that gave India glory by garnering 8 out of the 9 gold medals won till date, at the Olympics, has, in reality not been legally recognized for the same. Children of India have grown up reading in their text books that Hockey is the National game of India. Why has the Government been misleading people on the same. When the tiger has been officially declared the National animal of India, and Peacock has been declared the National bird of India, what is the problem to declare a national sport. Infact, the Odisha Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik, was surprised himself, as he was reviewing the arrangements for the Hockey World Cup, to be held in Bhubaneswar, this year, and realized that Hockey has not been notified as the national game.
